Zootekni Federation: A Strong Representative of the Livestock Sector

Establishment and Mission Zootekni Federation is a strong non-governmental organization that brings together Agricultural Engineers specialized in Zootechnics. Established on October 1, 2013, through the collaboration of nine associations from the regions of Ankara, Aydın, Çukurova, Aegean, Erzurum, Samsun, Tokat, Thrace, and Van, our federation aims to lead the development of the livestock sector. While representing the rights of zootechnists in the best possible way, we conduct national and international activities to enhance the potential of our country in the field of animal husbandry.

Our Areas of Activity As Zootekni Federation, we carry out extensive activities that support scientific and sectoral development in the livestock industry:

  • Sectoral Policies and Collaborations: We contribute to the formulation of livestock policies, collaborate with national and international organizations, and represent our country on a global scale.

  • Research and Scientific Studies: We conduct scientific research on animal breeding and nutrition, animal genetics, health, and welfare, ensuring that the sector is supported with the most up-to-date data.

  • Education and Awareness: We provide training, technical support, and informative publications for animal breeders, aiming for sustainable development in the sector.

  • Relations with Public and Private Institutions: We collaborate with government institutions, communicate the sector's needs to decision-makers, and contribute to regulatory processes.

  • International Representation: As a member of the European Federation of Animal Science (EAAP), we represent Turkey in international platforms and closely follow global developments.

Scientific Publications and Congresses Our federation periodically organizes National and International Zootechnics Science Congresses to ensure the dissemination of scientific knowledge and its integration with the industry. These congresses serve as a vital platform for academics, industry representatives, and researchers.

Additionally, we publish the Journal of Animal Science and Products (JASP) twice a year, covering topics such as animal production, animal nutrition, genetics, health, and welfare. As an open-access, internationally peer-reviewed journal, JASP provides valuable academic content to industry stakeholders.

Zootechnics Bulletin Published biannually, the Zootechnics Bulletin offers practical information on different areas of animal husbandry, shares sectoral developments, and presents exclusive interviews with professionals in the field.

Our Vision for the Future As a federation, we continue to promote sustainable and scientific approaches in the livestock sector. By engaging in education, R&D projects, policy development, and industry awareness initiatives, we aim to maximize our country's livestock potential.
